PAM PALMER IS BACK!!

What a wonderful surprise to find a new book by the master tatter Pam Palmer. With the help of Heidi Nakayama, Pam has published a book of whimsical designs, critters, butterflies and even a doily!

Like Heidi, I met Pam Palmer at the 1995 International Org. of Lacemakers in Belluvue, WA. It was Pam's first convention as well as mine. I remember her sitting alone in the meeting room when I joined her and have been so pleased to know her all these years. I think we watched a presentation by Heidi Nakayama on shuttles at the time, too. Serendipity was at work. Both she and Heidi have published books on the history of tatting shuttles. Pam the European side and Heidi the American side.

Heidi has been active in keeping the names of other tatters alive, too. Dora Young's "All New Knotless Tatting" was brought back into print by her. And now she has helped Pam Palmer present her tenth book of tatting patterns. (And hopefully not the last one.)

This 48 page new book has more than a dozen patterns including a very proud peacock. This very peacock is such a lovely pattern and it has the very one so often been requested. As always, Pam's straightforward outlines define the figures which are then dressed with tatting. Her work is much admired and is a joy to tat.
